The Next Stage
CMC's Next Stage initiative is about empowering tomorrow’s leaders by creating an accessible space to the Frogtown, Rondo, and North End neighborhoods where Black Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC) youth are prioritized. A space where they have a voice, receive services that fulfill their basic needs, and have a caring environment that nurtures their social and academic development.
Our Next Stage Initiative includes:
Moving to a new space that will support our youth's academic achievement (when it is safe to do so)
Updating our ancient technology
Buying 20 new black concert music stands for our young musicians
Increasing our reach to more youth & families
Increasing our sustainability for years to come
“I’m not shy anymore. When I [first started] doing choir I wouldn’t show my face at all and now I have my camera on me the whole time. I got over my fear knowing that other people might also be feeling the same thing."
~Aaliyah, 9th grade
"ComMUSICation allows all of St. Paul's youth, especially those from historically under-resourced neighborhoods, to experience the joy and achievement of music-making while growing new skills."
~Sharon DeMark, Program Officer

Singing For A Cause
Need a last minute gift idea? Buy a CMC Songbook!
We are excited to announce CMC's first ever songbook for sale! PDF copies are $25 and hard copies are $40.
COVID-19 has made singing harder, but not impossible. We hope these songbooks make it fun and easy to sing with your loved ones during the holidays. The books are filled with favorite rounds, call & response songs, and a few original works from CMC community members coupled with CMC youth artwork.
We want to see and hear your feedback! Use #cmcsongbook to show us a video or photo of you singing and tag us @commusicationmn on Facebook and @cmcchoir on Instagram. There may even be a contest! Stay tuned for more by following us on Facebook and Instagram.
Thank you for continuing to support our mission of empowering urban youth with skills for success through music, service, and community. Buying a songbook (or more!) helps ensure CMC continues providing high-quality programs for its young people when connection is more important than ever.
